Hating on bladers is en vogue

Ever since I saw the advert in one of the skate boarding mags making fun of aragon I knew blading was off the main stream and back underground. That MTV skit just emphasizes the point more...*sigh* I wish some of the good things we do as a sport made the lime light, not just cheesy ass skits.

  There's a great story from Arlo a few years back discussing hate in Rollerblading and the failed BlueTorch tv channel. I'll see if I can get it online soon, summarizes this sorta thing pretty well.

  This is nothing new but it's so immature. I can see back in the 90's when inline was making cash hand over fist but now? I love how Skates on Haight has two different websites to try and hide from skateboarders that they sell skates. Except that they sell inline skateboards, Scorpion Skates (imagine a quad suspension frame attached to a low-cut Xsjado boot), Freeline skates(they're not attached to your feet so it's okay, except you can't air or grind), Xlider skates. If what we do is so gay, why imitate it with a board twist?

    I think its hilarious.Before i even saw the clip it was a gwen stefani and HP computers ad. Yeah isn't she ska/punk now sold out to a computer company?Awesome nothing says rebel like HP computers.
    There are more kids skate boarding than little league football. That really says something. I think rollerblading is starting to be seen as the alternative to skateboarding.
    Remember when Skateboarding was stupid. "Yeah i used to skateboard...When I was 5!" Look at it now.
    Plus this is on the same network that has no music but calls itself music television. Let them have Leguna Beach.
    Real people are starting to see rollerblading for what really it is.We all know that that little clip wasn't it.

We love rollerblading and like many of you, we live on the web. There are a lot of places where rollerblading and the web mix, but over the years we realized something was missing. Most of the websites are just blogs with a forum, which is fine if that's all you want, but there's so much more that can be done.

Rollerhome was designed to give you everything you could ask for in a rollerblading community. We've been doing this stuff since before Google registered google.com. Yeah, that long. We've seen what works and what doesn't, what people want and what they don't want.
