Aggressive Skaters of Kentucky

Hello, my name is Silas Baker, founder of (A.S.K.) Aggressive Skaters of Kentucky.

I started this group because here in London, KY where I live this is just about 3 aggressive skaters and thats it. So I set out to meet more people that enjoyed the lifestyle of rolling as much as I do. The purpose of the groups is to help skaters get skateparks built in there community where they are having trouble getting them built, by way of petitions and contacting city officials, and also to encourage others to start rolling and get the sport growing.

I have been working with skateshop owners all over Kentucky. Coming in 2008, we plan on hosting "Saturday Skate Sessions" to let the skaters, here in Kentucky, gather together on Saturdays to skate and meet new friends. Our plans are to meet at certain locations, premiere a new skate videos, then go skate the town.

In the growing process though, money will be needed to host events and what-not. We plan on selling products with the A.S.K. logo to promote the group. Donations will also me taking to promote the group as well, just contact rollinginky@inbox.com for more information.

Right now we are working with a group of skaters in Somerset, KY and Owensboro, KY. They have gotten a petition together to show their mayor and city-counsel how much skateparks are needed in there communities. If the future, we plan to get endorsements or sponsors, to help sponsor up-and-coming skaters located in Kentucky, so they get a little jump start at the sponsored lifestyle and what it has to offer.

If the sponsorships work out, we then will host demo's at skateparks and school across Kentucky to help promote the sport and stress the safety needed in the sport as in protective gear.
