I haven't seen any companies producing pants like that lately. Some "work jeans" are a heavier denim and I'd tend to say that just a slightly heavier denim throughout is a better solution.

The trouble with adding padding is that you end up with strange stitching marks and the fit can be compromised.

Honestly, I rarely spend more than $25 on a pair of jeans. I buy them on sale and buy Levi's or some variation of big name brands. They tend to be durable enough for me and if I buy a couple on sale it's still a better and more fashionable alternative IMHO.

Also, I haven't really been satisfied with the jeans from skate companies. They may be producing good quality stuff, but lately it seems to me that they've all been too tight for my tastes.

Some name brands still sale jeans at retail with holes all over them too -- I don't think that's quite out of fashion yet. You just need a less ripped pair to wear to work. Very Happy
