Re: rollerblading definition

A while back I started working on an article that I never finished (well, really never got started) -- I did write an article all about the "future" of rolling back in 2002 (released December 20th 2002) -- http://www.havenskate.com/features/THE%20FUTURE%20OF%20ROLLING/...
I remember being caught up with the ideas of the terms Rollerblading, Rolling, Inline Skating, and Skating. I remember looking up skating and wondering why skateboarders and the majority of people would always assume skating = skateboarding. The definition surprised me at the time because the focus of the terms top definitions was on ice skates and rollerskates or the idea of gliding or moving along as if on [ice] skates.
There's been enough conversations online about why we shouldn't or should use the terms Rollerblade or Rollerblading to fill rooms upon rooms with paper if you were to print it all out... I remember that while I was in high school in the 90's that the ASA was big and the term Aggressive Skating was the one I was devout about using -- but I think it made me sound crazier than it would have just to say that I rollerblade...
Anyway, I dunno if this helps -- ha. I think I kind of just went off on a large tangent. I think the main thing to remember or discuss is that it's just a name and some of the reasoning to use a name is because of the marketing machine of companies. The entire reason behind the term rollerblading is due to the Rollerblade company, right?
