- This raises a question: If Valo isn't under Empire Distribution anymore, does it mean that it truly is 100% skater-owned already?

- All I know is that I really enjoyed the edit - http://themgoods.com/video/europe07_TG2.mov
I was wondering if valo owns all the rights for the molds/skates now or if they still have some relationship with Roces?

- Valo is still owned by Roces and Julio. This is just a US distribution change for the brand. Basically Empire (Azikiwee) just no longer has anything to do with Valo.
Since Roces stopped making the M12, Valo is basically just Roces' aggressive brand- think of it as Valo being the Escalade and the M12 being the Yukon (or whatever GMC SUV the Escalade is based off of, I don't really know).
GM owns both and but at a basic level they are the same thing (same boot, same cuff, same buckle, etc). The Valo skate is the "pimped" M12, or the M12 is the "stripped" Valo. Only difference here is that Julio owns a part of the Valo brand but does not own any part of Roces.
What'd be really nice is if Jon/Themgoods cut RocesUSA out of the picture and started handling the warehousing and shipping of the skates himself- Valo has always had two US distributors stacked on top of each other, which I assume contributes to their really high cost and low margin for shops. I'd also love to see Jon bring the UFS M12 back as the Valo budget skate... the Valo Lite or the Valo Naked or something.

- Oh, and one more point- Empire, as far as I know, is and always has been 100% skater-owned, by Azikiwee. Paradigm (Runners Project, 7XL, Dyna) was the predecessor to Empire and was not 100% skater-owned.
