- @Patrick There are so many reasons to shoot on HD -- even if you only have the ability to distribute on DVDs in the short term. 1) All those beautiful slow-mo shots wouldn't be possible if it weren't for the additional resolution. 2) After editing and compression, even stuff shot in SD will not look as good as stuff shot in HD edited and compressed for SD... 3) maybe in a year it'll be a little cheaper to distribute Blu-rays or they'll put the video online in a HD format... Mostly though, HD gives you SOOO much more freedom when editing - especially if you know that it'll be distributed on SD media only.
Anyway -- I really think they've done something wonderful here and I can't wait to see it!
