Here is a post from a japanese skate blog where they have completely disassembled a pair of Nihms. Im disappointed. Razor cult shells and a dremel is all it takes to make some home made Nihms

I dunno, I think they're alright. Granted, it's not like a completely new mold, but I didn't expect them to be. So long as they ride well I think people will be happy.

Look at a new TRS and it is chopped in a very similar way - without the skin it looks like an ugly old shell with bits missing. But that isn't the point, this is based from a blank manufacturers mold and is a good start - I'm sure you will see it change a lot.

I disagree the TRS shell in my access was nothing like the shell in my tarmacs. This is the same boot as the impact and flat. From 10+ years ago.

I dont understand the point of the toe cut out either. I think its gimmicky. If you wear steel toed boots you can't tell unless something falls on the toe. I dont know how that hole is going to change anything.

I just think "skin skate companies" are all hype, over charging kids for the name behind the skate and some cloth.

The soulplate is the new product here. The skate is just a rebadged razor.

I completely understand your comment Patrick and there's a lot of marketing going on here with these skates and really any skate... but it's just business and right now this business model appears to be working so company's are gonna stick to it...

It's like how the people all over the net start saying that razors should change their shell when they were coming out with a new Shima skate every week. But someone was still buying the new product rather than going to a play it again sports or a big 5 and buying last years model since it's the same thing... There's people that are buying new skates every couple months just to get the new color flow... It's up to the skaters to help guide our industry and support what they like. This might be hype, but if people like the hype it'll work... Heck, look at how much Halo 3 was over hyped -- but when a formulas working it's working.

I think all of the innovations in skating have been limited to frames as of late anyway. I'm sure more can be done with the skate shells and liners, but it needs to wrap around our feet somehow... At least our products change and aren't totally branded company hype like some other industries when the products are almost literally all the same thing, but have different art (kinda like our different skins)... Anyway sorry to run on about this... I'm picking up what you're putting down...

Dude, they're inline skates! What did you expect? An anti-grav space boot some nut cooked up in an underground Area 51 lab? Inline skate design can only progress so far. Shouldn't you be more thankful that rollerblading products have radically changed in the past decade despite lack of mainstream support? Look at skateboarding. They've been using the same wood, the same trucks, the same wheels, and the same bearings that existed since the mid-1990s. You don't see them complaining, do you?

Im not asking for innovation just something new. All cars have 4 wheels and hold passengers but you can deny the deference in just last years cars to this years. Also If I got a better deal on cult 6s compared to 7s guess which one i would buy. I think the only reason the new skates sell is because the old ones sell out in specific sizes. In my 12 years of skating, razors has had 2 boot molds, the Genesys and the impact-flat-cult. I know Rollerblade has gone through 4. look all that k2 had before they dropped out, and Roces had a ton. I think of rems the same way. They have a great skate on the market right now, why not invest in a second cheaper option. Actually, that I think, is what they are doing.
My point is give us something new not the same old car with a new paint job and lambo doors.
