Posted by: CzechSkates
The soul plates are way boxier and bigger so it's messing with just basic skating and I feel like I don't have the ankle support in Xsjado's like I did in a typical boot skate. I've heard way to many people say that Xsjado's are the tightest most secure locked in fell of any skate, so I'm confident it's something I need to get used to; but it's reassuring to hear I'm not alone!

Posted by: timparker
Hah I just misread the whole post! Xsjados from valo is also very very different. There are so many straps, you can have the cuff high or low and the flex is so different. Id say make sure you tighten them up and let them wear in. The soulplates are also very large and I found it helps to wear them down a bit before the skate responds how I personally like them. You do at first feel a sore instep or outstep from the footwraps but it went away for me after a week or so - let us know how you get on!

Posted by: timparker
I tried Valo's before and I've skated Xsjado since the day the first Latimers arrived in the shops. The way xsjados fit and feel is like no other skate, I found the hardboot of valo just way to uncomfy, the cuff restrictive and yeah was never going to happen which is why I am still skating xsjado. Letting them bed in is going to help slightly as they loosen off but other than that its more of just skating them in to get used to them.... unless you fancy cutting around with the toe cap...
